Nikka 12 Year Old combines spirits from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries to give a beautifully balanced whisky. Malted barley and green apple on the nose, with beeswax, spice and touches of citrus. A lively palate, fresh orchard fruits and honey supplement the malted barley notes with more mature flavours of toasted nuts and spice. Fruit cake and toffee add weight to the palate, but this is balanced with really fresh green apple and citrus. A fantastic whisky showing great poise.
