Jeroboams has been at the heart of some of London’s oldest neighbourhoods for over thirty years. Incorporating Laytons, now called Jeroboams Trade, our history stretches back to 1934. We believe in being personal, attentive and using our extensive knowledge to ensure you walk away with the perfect bottle. Whether in the shops, online, or in the trade, we are here for you.
Knowledge and service are at the core of what we do at Jeroboams. It is important for us to listen and work with you to help meet your needs. Our shop teams are able to assist with choosing a bottle to suit your tastes, and offer a range of services too, from home delivery to glass hire and tastings. Fine Wine is a big part of what we do, offering everything from cellar advice, storage and En Primeur, through to broking and even advice on selling your wines.
Jeroboams Trade holds a special place within the business, having a history that stretches back nearly ninety years. Founded ‘by restaurateurs for restaurateurs’ we offer advice and supply to restaurants, gastropubs and bars, as well as corporate customers, both large and small.
Central to our business is working directly with producers from all over the world. Led by Peter Mitchell MW, our buying covers famed producers such as Moss Wood, Hunter’s and Castello dei Rampolla, as well as vaunted Domaines from Burgundy, through to the lesser known wineries from the far reaches of Europe. Uniting these producers is a shared ethos between us: high quality wines made by people who care for people who care. Winning Decanter Magazine’s Italian Specialist of the Year award in 2019 and 2020 is testament to this, as is being named Small Chain of the Year at the Drinks Retailing Awards 2018.
Our shops are the heart and soul of Jeroboams. When we first started out in 1985, the high street was a different place to what it is today. But our values have never changed. Jeroboams is somewhere welcoming, where you can pop in for a chat on the way home, taste something nice and special, or just pick our brains. We are here for the local communities, and are immensely proud of our close relationships with local residents and businesses alike.
