2019 Ladoix, 1er Cru Les Grechons et Foutrieres, Marchand-Tawse (6 x Bottle)
The 2019 Ladoix Les Gréchons et Foutrières 1er Cru, matured in one- and two-year-old barrels plus 25% new oak, has quite high-toned gooseberry and red apple scents, somehow reminding me of a Kiwi Chardonnay. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, with tinned apricot and peach and modest weight in the mouth. This is a punter-friendly Ladoix that will be best consumed in its youth.
