2017 Chablis, Tete d’Or, Domaine Billaud-Simon (6 x Bottle)

France Burgundy Chablis

The 2017 Chablis Tête d'Or is fabulous. Silky, elegant and beautifully perfumed, the 2017 is all class. White flowers, mint and pear are some of the many notes that grace the 2017, but what impresses most is the wine's persistence and total class. The 2017 is simply impeccable.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The components of the 2017 Chablis Tête d’Or had just finished malolactic fermentation when I sampled them, but the wine reveals lots of promise, offering up crisp aromas of citrus zest and apple, followed by a medium-bodied, tangy palate with good concentration. As it rounds out with further élevage it should develop into an excellent example of the appellation.

One of the region’s shrewd purchases is the 2017 Chablis Tête d’Or, an incipiently complex wine that derives from the domaine’s most propitiously sited parcels. Opening in the glass with scents of green apple, lemon, oyster shell, smoke and dried white flowers, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, with an incisive spine of acidity and a tight-knit core that will reward at least a couple of years in the cellar.
