2016 Ruppertsberger, Riesling Trocken, Dr Burklin Wolf, Pfalz (6 x Bottle)
Bright pale lemon coloured with a piercing nose of white fruits, ripe apples and hints of honey. The palate is medium bodied, just off-dry and has great intensity of fruit, balanced by mouth-watering acidity. The finish is clean and very long.

Vinous
The second of three bottlings, each of the same blend but benefiting from successively more time on the fine lees, this incorporates a significant share of fruit from the estate’s monopole Gaisböhl, only a portion of whose surface area informs the eponymous “G.C.” bottling. In Ruppertsberg-typical fashion, nose and palate feature peach and lemon laced with sweaty salinity and black tea smokiness. The finish here really grips, and the combination of lusciously generous, juicy fruit in counterpoint with alkalinity and seed piquancy, along with saliva-liberating salinity, renders the next sip irresistible.
