The 2016 Tychson Hill is dense, plush and voluptuous, with stunning purity in its fruit and tremendous concentration, both of which have been achieved while retaining considerable freshness. Blueberry jam, crème de cassis, lavender, menthol and licorice notes flesh out, but it is the wine’s textural unctuousness that stands out most. The 2016 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. It is also the first vintage to incorporate fruit from the Josephine’s Hill portion of Tychson Hill.
