The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Passito shows medicinal cherry dusted with autumnal spices and lifting hints of fresh mint. Silky, opulent textures are well-matched by succulently ripe red fruits offset by nuances of clove and a spicy twang of candied ginger and nectarine. This leaves a coating of primary concentration contrasted by round tannins, yet maintains a wonderfully juicy persona, as residual acids keep the expression fresh.
