Deep coloured with a highly complex nose of sweet black fruits, oak spice and a hint of VA. The palate is full bodies with great richness and a mouth coating texture. Prodigious tannins frame the immense finish. This is as good as Sagrantino gets.

Vinous
The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino wafts up with marine-like mineral tones, wild herbs, dried currants and smoke. This is soft, almost plush in feel, with fleshy wild berries and clove giving way to mounting tannins toward the close. The cheeks pucker through the youthfully restrained and chewy finale, and hints of licorice linger on. Unfortunately, I don’t find the balance for a steady evolution here.
