Vinedos y Bodegas Fernandez de Arcaya

Located only 25km to the North East of Logroño, the heart of Rioja, the style of the wines here is nonetheless definitely Navarran. Although historically there were some vineyards on the property as part of a mixed farm, in 1982, the Fernández de Arcaya family decided to concentrate on wine and the whole estate was cleared and re-planted. A winery was built and in 1990 the first estate bottled wine was made. Now run by brothers Joaquin and Miguel, there are 68 hectares of vines, mostly Tempranillo and Cabernet. The Crianza has deep cherry fruit flavours compimented by vanilla, spice and toast all wrapped in a mellow package.
