Veuve Clicquot
Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe, who was joined by his son François. When François died in 1805, the business was taken over by his 27 year old widow, after whom the house is now named. The yellow label was introduced in 1877 and is now an international icon. Now owned by LVMH, Veuve Clicquot is run separately and continues to produce benchmark wines.
