Ruinart
The Reims-based Domaine Ruinart is the oldest Champagne house in existence, founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. It has vast chalk cellars up to 38m deep and is modest in size, producing under 2 million bottles of high quality champagne each year. Owned by LVMH it is particularly famous for its Chardonnay, with its flagship Blanc de Blancs and the exquisite Dom Ruinart Blanc, also pure Chardonnay. There is also a fine rosé, the excellent ‘R’, and the very rare and sumptuous Dom Ruinart Rosé.
