Puriri Hills
Puriri Hills, which takes its name from the native Puriri trees growing on the estate, was established by Judy Fowler in 1997 when the first 4 acres of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (later discovered to be Carmenère) were planted. Since then, they have focused on producing blended red wines inspired by the celebrated wines of Pomerol and St. Emilion and in 2019, exactly 20 years after their first vintage, they won Bob Campbell’s winery of the year further cementing their reputation for producing Premier Cru Classé wines at a fraction of a price.
