Philippe Alliet
Philippe’s grandfather started this domaine, however when he died it was split between his sons. In 1985, Philippe reunited the family’s holdings and has since augmented them, now farming 16 hectares. Yield here are very low and the winemaking more akin to that of Bordeaux, giving results that are spectacular. Beautifully textured, well structured and full of elegant cedary fruit, there is none of the stalkiness that is often associated with Loire reds. Over the last 15 years this has become one of the Loire’s very top domaines and we count ourselves fortunate to get a small allocation of Philippe’s wine.
