Mount Edward
Alan Brady was one of the pioneers of winemaking in Central Otago and was the first person to plant vines there. In 1997 he founded his own winery, Mount Edward, with the aim of producing fine and elegant Pinot Noir and Riesling. Now run by Duncan Forsyth, everything here is about the fruit and letting it express the terroir. Winemaking is minimum interventionist and great care (and labour) go into the vines themselves to ensure perfect health and ripeness of the crop. The Pinot Noir has great depth and balance and can rival the very best in the country.
