Miraval
Miraval is a 500-hectare estate that sits in its own private valley in the north of Provence at 250m altitude. The site was occupied by the Romans and was in its time a monastery and home to members of the French Court. The current property is first mentioned in the 14th century registry of noble houses. American Tom Bove bought the property in 1993 and re-established the vineyards with 30 hectares on the valley floor. The estate was bought by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2012 who went into partnership with the Perrin family (of Château de Beaucastel fame) to produce the wine. The vineyards are farmed without pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers and all harvesting is by hand.
