Los Vascos
The estate can trace its earliest origins to 1750, when vines were first planted here by a Basque family (Los Vascos means ‘the Basques’). Moribund, it was purchased by the Rothschilds of Lafite fame in 1988 and a massive program of investment was undertaken. There are now 580 hectares under vine on an estate that stretches to 3,600 hectares. As you would expect, the wines here have a distinctly Bordelaise feel to them, with just a little more weight and primary fruit.
