La Guardiense
Founded in 1960 by 33 members, this cooperative now consists of 1000 growers calling upon 1500 hectares of vineyards and is one of the country’s finest co-ops. The vineyards are in the DOC of Sannio in Campania, adjoining the vineyards of Taurasi and Tufo. Great attention is paid to environmental practices, including a solar generation plant. The oenologist is Riccardo Cotarella, one of Italy’s most famous winemakers and the flagship Janare range was created to highlight local grape varieties and individual terroirs, all of which appear on the labels.
