Gordons

Gordon’s Gin was developed in 1769 by Scottish born Alexander Gordon. It was initially distilled in his Southwark distillery. Production moved to Goswell Road Clerkenwell in 1786. The premises were bombed and destroyed in 1941 and production moved to Moreland Street EC1 in 1950. In 1984 modern production transferred to Laindon in Essex. In 1994 there was a shortlived experimental run of gin production at Pittyvaich distillery in Scotland but in the end, when the Laindon premises finally closed in 1998 production moved to Cameronbridge distillery in Scotland. However, not all Gordon’s gin is produced at the one distillery and distilleries can be found within each continent that are licenced to produce Grodon’s Gin.
