Feudo Arancio

Feudo Arancio is a modern state of the art wine producer located in Sambuca in the west of the island, around 10 km from Corleone of The Godfather fame. They only vinify grapes from their own vineyards, which are planted with 10 different varietals. There are two vineyards totalling 400 hectares, both towards the cooler, windswept south coast. The Pinot Noir is grown in the Acate vineyard at the higher altitude of the two. The winery is ecologically minded, amongst other measures using solar energy and rainwater harvesting and is only the second ever winery to achieve EMAS 2 Eco management certification. The Pinot Noir has ripe fruit, dark cherry and spice and is far more elegant than you might expect from this warm part of the world.
