Ego Bodegas

Founded by Santos Ortiz, Ego Bodegas have 25 hectares of vineyards, much organically certified and with most of the vines 50 years old. In this intensely hot climate, the most important grape variety is Monastrell (mourvèdre), which is ideally suited to the heat and which makes up 80% of plantings in the DO. Ego Bodegas are unusual in having significant acreage of other varieties, notably Petit Verdot, Syrah and Cabernet.
