Domaine la Monardiere
Martine and Christian Vache purchased this estate from the Monarde family in 1987 as a collection of family vineyards. Twenty years later, their son Damien joined them. Concerned with preserving this heritage, they converted to organic production in 2007, gaining certification in 2010 and using the ‘mass selection’ method to ensure a rich, genetic heritage. All the vineyards are hand-harvested (not that common here) and they are one of only 45 of the 175 growers in Vacqueyras to domaine-bottle. There are 22 hectares, 18 of them in Vacqueyras and their wines are made, all with minimal intervention.
