Domaine Henri Gouges

Henri Gouges started his domaine in 1925 and was amongst the first to domaine bottle his wine, starting in 1933. Currently run by two of his great-grandchildren, Grégory and Antoine, the domaine is confined to Nuits-St.-Georges, where it owns 14.5 hectares of vineyard, the majority in the finest premier crus. The reds tend to be quite dense, tannic and structured and develop great complexity with bottle age. A small amount of white wine made from a mutation of Pinot Noir is also made.
