Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue
One of the very greatest estates in Burgundy and in the same family since the middle of the 15th century, de Vogüé own a little over 12 hectares of vineyards in Chambolle, including 2.7 hectares of Bonnes-Mares and 7 hectares of Musigny (80% of its total area) from which they make ethereal wines of power and grace that can improve in bottle for decades. Their village and premier cru wines are no less captivating and there is also a small amount of the only Grand Cru white from the Côte de Nuits, a rare Musigny Blanc. The wines are now fabulously expensive, but in this case are worth it.
