Chateau Puy Servain
After gaining a Diploma in Enology from Bordeaux University, Daniel Hecquet worked at Château d’Yquem. After 8 years consulting for the CIVRB, he took over the reins at his family property, Puy Servain, in Bergerac, where he makes decent reds, fine, grassy whites and truly superb dessert wines (he learnt a thing or two at Yquem!) His Haut-Montravel Liquoreux is 100% Sémillon, full of botrytis flavours and aged in oak and would shame many more expensive Sauternes.
