Chateau Paloumey
Martine Cazeneuve bought this abandoned and ruined estate in 1989 and set about restoring it to the glory it had enjoyed in the 19th century. In 1994 she took on a young winemaker, Pascal Lamarque, who has helped regain the property’s status with a succession of high performing vintages. With a blend of 40% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged a year in oak, a third of which was new, the wine is ripe, full and immensely enjoyable.
