Chateau Palmer
Although ‘only’ a third growth, it is widely accepted that Palmer is way more than that and has consistently outperformed the second growths in Margaux. Although the vineyards have been here since the 17th century, the estate got its name from Englishman Charles Palmer, who bought it in 1814. Now owned by a consortium of shareholders, the 55 hectares are, unusually, planted with equal parts Cabernet and Merlot, giving Palmer a unique style. Palmer has been biodynamic since 2009.
