Chateau Haut Chaigneau
This 28 hectare property was purchased as a ruin in 1967 by André Chattonet. He set about restoring the vineyards and building a superbly equipped chai. Now run with his son Pascal, an oenologist and specialist in TCA, it is considered one of the best estates in the appellation. The soils are a mixture of silty clay and gravelly clay and the average vine age is an impressive 40 years.
