Chateau de Millery

The Manoncourt family have been associated with Château Figeac, a legendary Grand Cru Classé, since 1892, but they have also owned de Millery since 1942, a tiny gem of less than a hectare in size sat on clay limestone soils in the commune of St.-Christopher-des-Bardes on the plateau. This difference in soil from Figeac meant theat Thierry Manoncourt wisley decided not to incorporate the production into Figeac, but to bottle it separately. Thierry was so enamoured of the wine, he even designed the label himself. The production is tiny – around 4,000 bottles per year and for many years most was exclusively sold to French collectors and 3 star restaurants in the country. Only recently have the family recently decided to offer limited quantities outside of France.
