Bodegas Vega del Castillo
Based in central Navarra, this Bodega has its roots in Olite in 1910 when it was formed as the first co-operative in Spain. In 1999 it absorbed two other local co-operatives and changed its name to Vega del Castillo and now controls 335 hectares of vineyards on very varied terrain. The oenologist here is Charo Moriones, a famous figure in the area. A local with winemaking in her blood, she graduated from Rioja University with a masters in oenology and for the past 25 years she has been a member of the Navarra Consejo. The Marquez de Aldaz wines are fruit driven and elegant and offer great value from this region.
