Balvenie 17 Year Old Doublewood Single Malt Whisky, 43% ABV (3 x 70CL)

Scotland Speyside Dufftown

To celebrate 50 years at Balvenie in 2012, David Stewart MBE created The Balvenie 17 Year Old DoubleWood: an older version of the iconic 12 Year Old DoubleWood that brought to the world the pioneering wood finishing technique. First matured in American oak barrels for 17 years, it is then transferred to European oak sherry casks to give that delightful rich, spicy, nutty quality. It shares the same DNA as the 12 Year Old, but is deeper and more complex. Elegant and complex on the nose, with a bright green apple aroma cutting through the deep honey and toasted spice flavours. Lots of sweet dried fruits, raisins, toasted almonds and cinammon, with rich toffee and creamy vanilla oak adding depth. Big, beautiful and simply delicious.
