2019 L’Heritier de Grand-Puy Ducasse, Pauillac
Tasting note
Our thoughts
This classic, upright claret is the second wine of Pauillac fifth growth Château Grand-Puy Ducasse (it was previously known – and still is, in some markets – as ‘Prelude’ de Grand-Puy Ducasse). More or less a 50/50 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it bears testament to the work that has being undertaken at the property (culminating in the opening of a new winery last year) in the 20 years since its acquisition by Credit Agricole in 2004. Probably as good as the estate’s grand vin was back then.
