N.V. Classic Cuvee, Nyetimber
Hailing from sunny Sussex, the wine is a real delight with sweet almond and toasted croissants on the nose, and vanilla and citrus on the palate with gentle hints of orange and blossom. Having worked with Nyetimber closely since 2006, it’s been a joy to see them effortlessly hop from strength to strength over the years. They’ve picked up numerous awards and great reviews, been called “The Krug of England” by Richard Hemming MW and of course were served at Pippa Middleton’s we dding.

Reviews
The NV Classic Cuvée is a blend of 50-60% Chardonnay, 30-40% Pinot Noir and 10-20% Pinot Meunier. This particular cuvée is based on the 2013 vintage, augmented by contributions from 2010 and 2011, also 20% of the 2009 vintage. It spent thre e years on the lees. It has a generous bouquet with red apple, fresh pear and a touch of Mirabelle. I appreciate the vigor and intensity here. The palate displays fine delineation with hints of strawberry and cherry, nicely weighted in the mouth with a brisk and tensile finish. The Classic Cuvée has long given pleasure and it continues to do so.
