Kopke 80-Year-Old Tawny Port
Kopke 80-Year-Old Tawny Port
Eight Decades in the Making
This autumn, we are proud to present the Kopke 80-Year-Old Tawny Port. A release that redefines rarity; from the world’s oldest Port house, founded in 1638, comes a wine that embodies patience, craftsmanship and heritage in its purest form.
Created from an extraordinary library of aged Ports - the oldest dating back to the late 19th century - this blend marks a milestone for Kopke and a new category for aged Tawny Port, officially recognised by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto (IVDP) earlier this year.
A New Benchmark for Aged Port
Resting for generations in Kopke’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, each cask tells part of a remarkable story - of the Douro’s steep terraces, of harvests long past, of unwavering devotion to excellence.
“The Kopke 80-Year-Old Tawny is more than a wine; it is the expression of time, tradition, and devotion. It captures the soul of the Douro and the patience of those who have preserved its treasures for centuries.”
- Carlos Alves, Kopke, Master Blender
The Experience
In the glass, the 80-Year-Old Tawny reveals deep amber tones with delicate green reflections - hallmarks of exceptional age. The nose unfolds with layers of exotic wood, citrus peel, and spice, while the palate is both vibrant and graceful, balancing richness with lifted acidity and a long, elegant finish.

“An incisive streak of acidity that offsets the natural and textural richness… a very beautiful old wine.”
