Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a vatting of single malts that have been aged in ex-bourbon barrels, hogsheads and puncheons. After blending these malts together, the whisky is transferred into French wine casks called Ovum casks. These casks are shaped like large eggs and hold around 2000L, they
are made in the Charentes region of France and impart an incredible complexity to the whisky. Expect notes of red berries and forest fruits along with candied citrus and white flowers, with touches of dark chocolate and oak spice on the palate.
