2022 Newfound Chardonnay, Placida Vineyard, Sonoma Coast (6 x Bottle)
The 2022 Chardonnay Placida Vineyard is creamy, rich and expansive, yet it never loses sight of its origins on Moon Mountain. Candied lemon peel, white flowers, mint, sage and chamomile build nicely in the glass. I especially admire the textured, resonant feel here. Lower yields dictated aging in smaller-format oak, an approach that worked beautifully. This is impeccably done.
