2021 Pinot Nero, Glen, Alto Adige, Castelfeder

Italy Alto-Adige

Tasting note

Relatively pale coloured with a sweet nose of summer berries and spice. The palate has a very ripe fruit flavours of strawberry and red cherry, backed by an earthy note and fine acidity. Supple tannins frame the finish.

Our thoughts

The Castelfeder estate is based in the southern part of Alto Adige, with all of their vineyards below Bolzano – the warmest part of the region. Delicious red fruit flavours, this is an appetising wine that calls to be served with prosciutto and aged parmesan.

Vinous

The 2021 Pinot Nero Glen lifts from the glass with a bouquet that blends confectionary spices with savory notes of crushed rocks, wild herbs and dried cherries. This easily sweeps across the palate, guided by brisk acidity while displaying tart wild berry fruits. It tapers off tense and lightly structured, with crunchy tannins while leaving a mouthwatering sensation.
