2021 Petit Figeac, St Emilion

The 2021 Petit-Figeac is gorgeous. Soft, pliant and beautifully understated, the 2021 is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next decade. Sweet red cherry, red plum, flowers and blood orange all take shape nicely. This is a fine second wine

Inside Bordeaux
Attractive and enticing, expect a more savoury Petit Figeac in recent years, once again the vintage has a clear impact on the selection process, but in the best hands – as here, honed also by the new cellar – what it gives instead is delicacy and finesse. Emphasis on red cherry and brambled fruits, supple and fine tannins. 37hl/h yield, 30% new French oak for ageing, a good long harvest stretching from September 21 to October 19.

Vinous
The 2021 Petit-Figeac has an understated bouquet with brambly red fruit, pencil box and just a touch of marmalade. The palate is quite delicate in style, certainly not powerful, yet focused and refined toward the gentle, iodine-tinged finish.
