The 2018 Chapelle d’Aliénor, a Bordeaux Supérieur from La Gaffelière, has a ripe and candied bouquet with vanillary red and blue fruit, a touch of patisserie in the background. The palate is very sweet and slightly confectionary on the entry, plush in texture with what feels like a bit of residual sugar on the finish. Easy-drinking and possibly a little cloying in quantity?
