2017 Fixin, Laroze de Drouhin
The 2017 Fixin Village comes from two parcels and matures in 30% new oak and 25% whole bunch fruit. It has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, briary and black tea, quite open at this early stage, the stem addition noticeable. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, notes of blackberry and bilberry fruit, quite introverted at the moment with a slightly austere finish that I suspect will gain more fruité by the time of bottling.
