Vinous

The 2016 Grand Village is absolutely delicious. Pliant, supple and generous, the Grand Village is a real standout in 2016. The interplay of mid-palate juiciness and bright acids that are such a signature of the year make for a compelling wine. A closing burst of red fruit and blood orange adds an exclamation point to this gorgeous and expressive wine from the Guinaudeau family. The 2016 is a fabulous wine by any measure. Don’t miss it.

Vinous

The 2016 Grand Village is a big wine. The natural richness of the year is evident in the wine’s exuberant fruit and plush, dense feel. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, sweet spice and lavender all race out of the glass. Today, the ripeness of the vintage is quite evident in the wine’s intense profile and overall feel. The 2016 spent 14-15 months in oak, 30% new.

Vinous

The 2016 Grand Village has a pretty bouquet of blackberry, bilberry and light iris aromas. The elegant palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and salty black fruit, and almost briny toward the finish, which displays impressive depth. This is a superb Grand Village, one of the best I have tasted.
