“Matteo Sardagna has completely revolutionized Einaudi over the last few years. These significant changes will take time to yield results, but they are large in scale. ”
Antonio Galloni, Vinous
We are delighted to present the latest releases from Poderi Luigi Einaudi.
Based in Dogliani, Einaudi has undergone radical transformation in the cellars, and the wines they are making today bear little resemblance to those they were making ten years ago. Acquiring new vineyards, installing a new state-of-the-art vat room (think Cheval Blanc), and changing the oak regime has meant the wines are lighter, more perfumed, and ultimately more elegant than they used to be. For us this is a huge point of difference, and a reason to get excited.
These wines also represent incredible value for money. Historic vineyards such as Cannubi are not to be missed, but for the everyday drinker their Barolo Ludo surely must be one of our best value wines in the whole campaign.
Pick and mix as you wish – you really can’t go wrong with any of these!

2019 Barolo Cannubi, Poderi Luigi Einaudi

2019 Barolo Bussia, Poderi Luigi Einaudi
Quite a savoury nose with warm beetroot, raspberry and a whiff of smoke. The palate is quite sumptuous and laden with black fruits. Powerful, with notable sweetness on the mid palate and a full rich finish. This has real presence, but not at the expense of elegance. Peter Mitchell MW, Jeroboams
