2023 Semillon, Moss Wood
Tasting note
Pale to medium straw hue, with green tints. Lifted fruit aromas and distinctly fragrant, showing traditional Semillon characters of fig, apple and lemon with added dimensions of quince, pear and peach. There is a complexity of lanolin, mushroom and malt biscuits waiting in the wings, behind a curtain of fruit. The palate continues the fruit depth theme of the ’23 vintage, with bright fig, pear, granny smith apple and citrus flavours, combining with fresh acidity and full body to give length and generosity. Well balanced tannins give the wine a firm but smooth finish.
Our thoughts
"One of the dark horses in the Moss Wood range." From a stellar vintage in Margaret River comes this intense, lip-smacking Semillon made with a stylistic nod to Graves. Such a plethora of texture and flavour makes this wine one not to miss - and to enjoy for decades if you can wait that long.

Vinous
This 2023 Semillon is immediately engaging thanks to an excellent upfront volume of hay and honeydew melon with touches of lanolin, which offers an impressive start. It then delivers a nicely textured and weighty style with fine acidity and impresses with sheer power and youthful energy. This is an excellent vintage for this Margaret River classic.
