2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte d’Alba, Diego Conterno
Quite deep coloured for nebbiolo, the deep dark fruit is plump yet sleek. Black plum, cherry and a hint of smoke on the nose lead to a palate with a creamy feel to it, with exhuberant cherry and cassis fruit with hints of violet and mint. Full bodies and powerful, yet supremely elegant. 2030-2042

Vinous
The 2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is redolent of iron, game, incense, scorched earth, blood orange, dark fruit and tobacco. A potent, strapping Barolo, the 2020 is certainly not for the timid. It offers tons of Monforte power, brawn and muscle. A few years in the cellar is an absolute must.
