Mighty Magnums, Perfect for Parties
You were probably going to open two bottles anyway. That is the case for a magnum before anyone mentions ageing or occasion: if six people are coming round, a magnum is simply the rational pour, less glass to recycle, one cork instead of two, the same wine. It also happens to be the format winemakers reach for when a wine is built to last. Not for flash, for function. The best producers hold their top cuvées back for magnum because the ratio of wine to oxygen slows everything down. Slower, but usually more magnificent, is how the evolution tends to go. What you are actually choosing is a wine given more time to become itself.
We have curated four favourites across the styles that matter, Champagne, white, rosé and red, each selected for how it performs at magnum scale, not just how it looks on the table.
