Hunter's Offshoot Range

Hunter’s is owned and run one of Marlborough’s pioneer winemaking families. First planting vines in 1979, Ernie and Jane Hunter built a legacy to envy over nearly five decades. Nephews James and Ed Macdonald now head up the winery and continue to make the multi-award-winning wines that tell the story of Marlborough.

In Offshoot, James and Ed use wild yeasts and the best grapes from the vineyard to experiment, push boundaries, and craft something new. With a deep respect for tradition but an eye on the future, Offshoot is where vision meets provenance, proving that even the strongest roots can lead to new growth.

This is a range that seriously punches about its price point, challenging some of the more premium Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and Australia. The 2024 Pinot Noir was recently awarded 94 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards, and Jeroboams Wine Director Peter Mitchell MW describes it as “classic Burgundian winemaking transported to Marlborough”.
