2019 Rosso di Montepulciano, Cantina Nottola
Tasting note
With a nose of ripe cherries and plums, the palate is medium bodied and shows ripe sweet fruits, quite gentle tannins and fresh acidity.
Our thoughts
Amid the Chiantis, Brunellos and Bolgheris of Tuscany, Montepulciano represents arguably the region’s best value for money. Certainly this Rosso rendering, from an estate that has been completely restored over the last 40 years across two generations of family ownership, provides ‘a lot of wine for the money’, as Jeroboams wine director Peter Mitchell MW says, but with impressively refined, precise tannins.
