2018 Age of Light Cabernet Sauvignon, Kaesler, Barossa Valley, South Australia (6 x Bottle)
Tasting note
The newest addition to the Kaesler Icon Collection, launching with the 2018 vintage; one of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon vintages the Barossa has seen. Dense crimson, this wine is pure and supple, with lifted blackcurrant and a hint of charry nutmeg. Aged for 20 months in the best barriques from Bordeaux have ensured perfect integration of oak and fruit.
Our thoughts
Of this inaugural release, head winemaker Tim Dolan says, “Barossa Cabernet often hides in the shadows of its much-celebrated sibling, Shiraz. Downtrodden for not being able to show its true colours in our warm, dry climate. However, in those certain special years when the stars align, it can produce a quality that has unparalleled longevity, much like the Age of Light.”
