The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 6, 50.4% ABV (3 x 70CL)
Batch six of Balvenie's Tun 1509 series is a marriage of 21 casks, including refill sherry butts, ex-bourbon barrels and barrels previously used to finish Balvenie Double Wood, chosen by Malt Master David Stewart MBE. Each of these casks has been married in the Tun, which sits in warehouse 24, for three months before being bottled at the distillery. Rich aromas of soft brown sugar, toffee, blossom honey and ginger fill the nose, complimenting notes of maple syrup, candied orange, runny honey, vanilla and oak spice throughout the palate.
