Bruichladdich Black Arts 7.1, 48.4% ABV (70CL)

Bruichladdich Black Art 7.1 brings together whiskies distilled in 1994, the year that Bruichladdich closed, until it was opened again in 2001. Matured for 25 years, Head Distiller, Adam Hannett, has kept the indentity of the individual casks a secret. Complex and assertive, there is marzipan and walnuts on the nose, with touches of caramel, honey, poached pears and toasted oak. Strawberry, grapefruit and coconut appear on the palate, which is more restrained and subtle, offering citrus, Turkish delight and more of that lovely toasted oak.
