Awarded the "Supreme Champion Spirit" at the 2011 International Spirits Challenge, The Balvenie 21 Year Old Port Wood is a star in the Balvenie range. Single malt is transferred over to port casks, otherwise known as "pipes", for a few months to lend a gentle touch of port character while preserving the original flavour profile of the whisky. Perfumed with red fruit and ripe raisin notes, backed by a nutty dryness. On the palate it is refined and with rearkable character; creamy and silky, with red fruit, honey and spice. It finishes long, gentle and nutty.
